About
Paul works with organisations, teams and individuals as a performance and mental skills coach. Paul has completed his masters degree in mental health, mental skills and performance psychology from the University of Limerick.
A current hurler with the Clare Senior Hurling team, Paul has experienced the highs and lows of elite performance in a highly competitive context and how a change in mindset can be initiated and elicit results.
Paul`s background is that of a post primary school teacher in Physical Education and Gaeilge. He also works regularly with TG4, Ireland`s Irish language broadcaster.

Brian O Connell, Clare Minor Hurling Manager 2023 and 2024
“Pauls experience as a player, teacher, and in performance psychology were an integral part of the Clare minor hurling team’s successful year in 2023. His ability to engage with players in both an individual and group setting allowed them to be extremely comfortable and confident in setting their goals.
Paul has a player centred approach to his sport performance coaching, the players trusted and respected him and this is why he got the best out of them on a consistent basis.
A stand out attribute for Paul is his sense of what is required to refocus the team during the highs and lows of a sporting season. His ability to communicate and relay messages to the management group ensured we were all working in the same direction.”
Mike Howe, PRO Miltown Malbay GAA club
"Paul Flanagan recently held a workshop at St.Josephs Miltown GAA for our underage team coaches. Paul delivered a very informative and well researched presentation which encouraged everyone present to engage with the issues covering the mental preparation and development of our younger players and gave coaches an opportunity to learn about the vital part this plays in both player and personal development.
Paul has a relaxed style of presentation which encourages discussion and allowed our coaches not only to learn from him but also from each other in an open and supportive environment. We would highly recommend Paul to any club looking to better engage with and develop the mental potential of their younger players and we look forward to welcoming him back to Miltown soon."
Patrick Aherne, Smith O Briens GAA Club
"Paul recently conducted his workshop with a number of our underage coaches. The content was very well presented, relevant and actionable. Paul clearly put the time and effort into his material with impressive research completed before coming on site. I would have no hesitation recommending his services to another club, regardless of the sport in question. A pleasure to deal with in all aspects of the work shop organisation."
